OCALA’S ROBERT HARDEN WINNER OF HOT WHEELS LEGENDS TOUR

Robert Harden of Ocala emerged victorious at the April 26 Hot Wheels Legends Tour Tampa Bay (Pinellas Park) stop with his V8 swapped 1974 Porsche 914. The bright orange, hand-built composite body immediately drew the judge’s attention to this one-of-a-kind Porsche hot-rod. The front fenders have been extended by 4-inches and the rears by 3-inches, providing the 914 an imposing stance while allowing the three-piece custom magnesium racing wheels to fit.

Having been rebuilt several times over its 51-year lifespan, the Porsche currently features a 427 V-8 stroker motor, producing an impressive 630 horsepower, with eye catching injector stacks and a custom exhaust. Additionally, Harden fitted the 914 with a coil over suspension setup and the brakes from a more modern Porsche Boxter S to improve its handling ability and stopping power. The judges were extremely impressed with the execution of Harden’s build, but it was his creativity that landed this unique Porsche the top of the podium in Tampa.
